The free and easy way to start ranking on Google

So you want to rank on Google but don’t know where to start? Follow this guide and let Google know that your website exists!

Did we mention it was free?

2. Creating a Google Search Console account.

You’ll need a Google account to verify and connect your website to your personal Google Search Console account. Once you’re logged in, you’ll see your website’s verify options. We’ll be using the Domain option.

3. Verifying your website/domain with on the Google Search Console.

To verify your website, you’ll need to follow the listed steps, we recommend the TXT option which is much easier than any others.

The main thing to know is that you’ll need to head to your domain name provider (godaddy, domain.com, namescheap).

Although if your website was built by someone other than yourself or you moved over your DNS services, the DNS records may be hosted on platform like Netlify, Heroku, or Cloudflare.

In this case we recommend reaching out to whoever built this website for you or heading to these platforms to add the TXT record.

Once this is done, congrats! You have a Google Search Console account.

4. Using the Sitemap section of your Google Search Console account to let Google know you exist!

On the left hand column of your Google Search Console account, under Indexing you’ll see the Sitemap option. Give it a click.

Here you’ll be adding your sitemap so Google knows you exist! Where do I find my sitemap?

Simple just get your’s websites URL and add /sitemap-index.xml behind it.

So for example the www.google.com sitemap is www.google.com/sitemap-index.xml (note Google and other big companies hide their sitemap).

Once you have your URL with the added sitemap. Go ahead and add it to the console, in our example it’s going to be: https://plixu.com/sitemap-index.xml
